Speed Rules BSD2023

Speed Competition Rules

The Speed Contest will test a Bartender’s skills in speed, recipe knowledge, bartending technique and cleanliness. The bartender will free pour or use a jigger from the correct bottles and make the correct cocktails using the correct techniques to the recipe specifications.

BarWarsLLC_comp1

Bartenders can rearrange the bottles in the speed well & glassware any way they want as long as the glassware starts/finishes on bartop and bottles start/finishes below the bartop.

Items on bar top have to start/finish on bartop. Items below bartop have to start/finish below bartop.

Bartenders can rearrange the items on the bar any way they want as long as it doesn’t conflict with the above statement. Items on the bar must stay on the bar, start and finish on the bar. Items from the bar can not be moved to start or finish on the back bar.

Bartenders can rearrange the items on the back bar any way they want as long as it doesn’t conflict with the above statements. Items on the back bar must stay on the back bar, start and finish on the back bar. Items from the back bar can not be moved to start or finish on the bar.

No pre-icing tins or glassware.

Glassware and tins starts face down.

Bartenders will start with their hands on the timer and time will start when they lift their hands and begin their round. Bartenders will then complete the round as accurately and quickly as possible without spilling.

You can make the cocktails in any order.

Only 1 bottle of each brand is allowed for the round.

Juices will be in glass bottles unless specified differently.

Once you complete all of the designated cocktails using the correct recipes and procedures, you will then stop the same timer you started with both hands to end your base time.

The Speed judge will then take your base time and add up all of the deductions to get your actual time. Your actual time will determine your score for this contest with the fastest times winning.
