My name is Lorenzo Julian Garcia, I’m originally from South Texas but I currently reside in Las Vegas, NV. I have been bartending for 16 years and have been doing competitive bartending for 10 years. I started bartending as means to make money and survive, I was studying Theatre in college, the plan was to teach Theatre when I graduated. At this time, I was just bullshitting my way through shifts, working corporate restaurants and night clubs. When I did my taxes my junior year of college, I was like “ Whoa, I’m already making, twice as much as I will be as a starting teacher when I graduate!” Mind you, I come from a family of teachers and at the time most of them were in debt, living paycheck to paycheck, and I did not want to fall into that same pattern. So I decided then and there to start taking this bartending thing seriously. Once I began truly researching and learning, I became obsessed, I wanted to know more everyday. That obsession and devotion to this new craft is what got me into flair bartending and then competitive bartending.

When I first began competing in 2014, I did pretty good in the semi-pro division. I got my first win in 2016 and then moved my way up to the pro division. Competitive bartending, since, has taken me all over the United States and 2 other countries. I have won multiple flair bartending competitions, classic cocktail and modern mixology competitions as well. All of those efforts and a mean desire to push myself to be the best bartender I can be has landed me in fabulous Las Vegas, NV, where I currently work at Fuel Bar, a flair bar, part time with some of the best flair bartenders in the world, ( a couple of multiple world champions, but who’s counting.. ) and I also work at Herbs & Rye, award winning classic cocktail bar and steakhouse. The most awarded bar in the state of Nevada, the only bar in Las Vegas with Tales Of The Cocktail awards, and currently sitting at No. 27 on the Top 50 Bars in North America list. All those hours of training, studying, working long hours, multiple jobs, working and organizing private events, traveling, competing, has all lead me to be the true barman I am today. It’s been a long road but I still feel I so much more to learn and teach.
