Month after month we publish another issue of Flairbar.com, the FBA‘s official online magazine. With so many issue’s each month… How do you choose the best?
Well good thing for you we have already done it for you. Our January issue is dedicated to our “Best of” issue. This is where we look back at the previous year and reminisce and showcase some of our best articles, recipes, reviews and memories.
We also would like to thank people like John Niekrash, Bill Hinkebein, Jim Allison, Ken Hall, JD Spradlin, Flairbar, Flairco, the FBA, Bob Silverstein and BarProducts for continually giving us an outlet and tools to showcase our sport. Also all the people that watch our sport on tv and come to our bars and support us… without you who would we perform for? To you our readers for taking our sport to new levels each and every year and pushing it to new limits and making the old impossible the new possible.
As we look to the future we can see a bigger FBA Pro Tour, New surprises from Flairco, a Hall of Fame, more issues of Flairbar.com, FBA awards voted on by you, sponsorships and endorsements, more certified judges, new products and many more great things to come. Each and every year I am proud to be part of this sport and it’s continual growing family.
Now it is time to sit back and enjoy Flairbar.com’s Best of 2006!
We start off with one of the biggest competitions of the year from the FBA Pro Tour… Nations. This event has always seemed to have some surprises and is always a great showcase of Flair bartending. You can read the full review on our ‘Comp Reviews’ page.
For two years in a row Philip Duff has submitted the “Best of” article. This time he educates us on “Life after Bartending”. Something very near and dear to all of our hearts. Check it out on our ‘Articles’ page. I can’t wait for next years article…
We have another two time winning page. For the second year in a row our “Best of” ‘And Finally’ page comes from you our readers as we gave you the microphone and you voiced your opinions on Flair bartending, the Legends of Bartending and Flairbar.com. Thank you all again for your honest and kind words and we will see you in Vegas real soon.
Next we move on to Danny Rossi as he shows us a very difficult three bottle sequence on our ‘Masterclass’ page. Oh yeah… I still need to practice that one.
Then we move on to our ‘Reviews’ page where we look back on “My Flair bottle beat up yours” by yours truly Rob Husted. Get the best product the first time and use what the pros use… My hands were still bruised for two weeks after that review… Ouch!
Next we have one of my favorite interviews from 2006 from the original voice of Flair himself… JD Spradlin. He shares with us his thoughts on the past, present and future of Flair bartending while keeping it informative and entertaining the whole time. All on our ‘Interviews’ page. Are you kidding me…?
From the past and present to the future. Toby Ellis talks to us about the many trends in bartending and nightlife that we share in our industry. All in his article “Bartrending” on ‘Cut Off’ by Toby Ellis. A must read!
Also, the Vice President of the USBG (United States Bartenders Guild) Nevada Chapter, Bobby G., is ‘In The Mix’ as he shares with us his insight on summer drinks and mixology. Educational and interesting at the same time.
For all of you other mixologists out there… Don’t forget to look back over the last year of our content collector called ‘Cocktails’. This is where you can share your own Skyy vodka and Finest Call cocktail recipes with the rest of the world and get credit for it. Have a great drink you invented? Want to share it with the rest of the world? Think it is worthy? Prove it!
From mixology to Flairbar.com’s resident mixologist Francesco Lafranconi. We revisit some “Vibrant Vacation Cocktails” our ‘Flavors’ page. Vacation… Yeah that’s right I do need one of those… maybe a cruise… wait I remember what happened last time. Oh sorry, just thinking out loud again. Damn voices in my head
Kevin Bednarz is back again with our newest addition to 2006, “Flairmation” which we revisit “Last Call Larry” finding time to Flair for the loving crowd. All on our “Flairmation” page. Larry, Larry, Larry….
We continue our ‘Reader Contest’ with new prizes for 2007 plus our regular features, more ‘Barware’, more pages, and more Flair than you can shake the year of 2006 at.
