FLAIR FROM FRANCE – Bar Academy Paris

Since I created Bar Academy in 2002 we have become Frances market leader in bar and beverage consultation.

We specialize in three distinct areas..

1 – Consulting
We create bar concepts for major investors. Our jobs include ergonomic studies, plans, work station layouts, beverage menu design and staff training.

Our clients include Buddah Bar Paris, Buddah Bar Beyrouth, Asian Singapore and Le Reservoir Paris.

2 – Training
We have a school located in Paris where we conduct classes for future bartenders. We offer two kinds of training, the most popular of which is called Show Bar: one week of Flair, working Flair, mixology and fruit garnishes.

We train all the head bartenders for groups such as Club Med and Accor.

3 – Cocktail Catering
We do a lot of private events for liquors brands and after parties including David Bowie and Ben Harper. for more information check our site.

Naturally we are working on the Flair scene. We started our Flair experience with Bai Shafari from the China Jump, Singapore.

Since January 2004 we have had the honor of working with Djamel Nahi (Pictured above) and Rafael Arce (Pictured left).

Djamel Nahi is our Show Bar Master. This guy is a nut! he started to Flair one year ago and his skills are amazing. He loves to play with fire during shows and his working Flair is neat and sharp, very surprising.

Rafael Arce is our Flair trainer. He came to us from from l’Universidad Del Cocktail in Buenos Aires where he trained bartenders. Rafael is an active competitor around Europe and hopes to start competing in the US soon.

The Bar Academy team organized the Paris Flair Open 2004. This competition was the first of its kind in France and involved 22 bartenders from nine countries. The winner Tom Dyer (pictured left upon the shoulders of Neil Lowery) won the jackpot with 4000 euros! The Paris Flair Open 2005 is already on the road babe.

Bar Academy is also organizing a monthly Flair event dedicated to local bartenders as well as working on opening our own bar in Paris. After that only God can tell. Until then we will definitely keep on rocking the French and European Flair Scene.
