Flair for a Change… We all Flair bartend for our own reasons. Whether it be for pride, money, fame, to get laid, because we enjoy it, etc… but we all Flair because its OUR PASSION! I guarantee you there are more Flair bartenders out there that Flair because it’s their passion and they want to be the best they can be at what they do rather then bartenders that just Flair for one of the reasons mentioned earlier. We strive to be better, whether through Flair, Mixology, speed, accuracy… it all comes down to guest service. We want to give the best SERVICE possible and Flair bartending helps us with that when executed correctly. Now I understand, you still hear the comments that Flair slows down service. It doesn’t have to… it all depends on how you utilize your Flair behind the bar. When you have a slammed bar, you won’t be doing much Flair or quick little moves to a pour and not full blown sequences or routines. When you have down time at your bar, that’s the time to break out the full blown working Flair routines or even an exhibition show if time allows to entertain the crowd.
We as professional Flair bartenders know this… the newer bartenders just learning Flair for the most part won’t learn this valuable lesson until later on unless they were trained properly. So many newer bartenders have the passion to learn so they are finding any means they can to accomplish this. While this is great at first, the real truth is by watching the thousands of Youtube videos out there on Flair, they are only getting a part of the training. “THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO PROFESSIONAL FLAIR BARTENDING THEN JUST MOVES”. Believe me, when you see it done correctly it will blow your mind!
So I ask you, our loyal Flairbar.com readers… in 2014, Flair for a change. If you are one of those newer Flair bartenders out there and haven’t learned that valuable lesson yet, please consider it and look at the big picture. If you are a seasoned professional Flair bartender, I ask you to Flair for a Change and compete in as many Flair bartending competitions as you can this year, take the new bartenders that are competing in that competition or behind your bar and help them help all of our futures together. Set the example. We are a team… and working together, we can accomplish amazing things.
Just think of the possibilities.
One way we can start leading by example is to use the proper tools behind the bar… Check out “5 Tools to Up your Game as a Bartender” all on our ‘Articles’page. For a small investment, these 5 tools will help you stand out as a professional behind the bar. What are your thoughts on the subject? Do you have an article you would like to share…? Message us on our Flairbar.com Facebook page and lets discuss.
Speaking of learning, head on over to our ‘Masterclass’ page where Rodrigo Cao teaches us a 2 bottle and exhibition Flair sequence that that you can use in your next routine. All on our ‘Masterclass’ page.
Then moving on to a younger brother of a well know Flair bartender who has created his own name in our sport … Vahe Manoukian. Vahe is a fun bartender behind the bar and on stage as well. Get to know all of that and more all on our ‘Interviews’ page entitled “Stepping out of the Shadow”.
After reading about being a bartending and creating cocktails you might be craving a cocktail… Check out “Sweet & Sour Delights” from Kris Bahamondes to help you satisfy your creative delights, all on our ‘Flavors’ page. Yum!
Next check up on one of our most animated characters here at Flairbar.com “Flairing Freddy” on our ‘Flairmation’ page. In this issue Freddy questions the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and everything that comes with it. I’m sure we can all relate. Lol
All of that plus our regular features, more ‘Barware’, more pages, and more Flair than you can shake an USBG 60 day free trail at. Use the code “joinusbg”
So take some time out and enjoy a Finest Call cocktail as you flip a Flairco bottle into a BarProducts tin and enjoy this months issue of Flairbar.com and say “Thank You” to the sponsors who keep our sport alive.
To Flair & Friends.
